A veteran fund raiser was yesterday preparing to quite any future events.the he started over a quater of a century.
Citizens band
radio euthusiast Ted Brown set Tang Bravo & Alpha Whiskey DX Group since
1981 to help good causes in the fair city,
Since then he has raised over £42.500 by holding a series of benifts events, known as eyeballs" in CB Jargon, but now he is set to call time on his big-hearted actvities.
Insisting the Group would survive his pending exit from eyeballs.
Mr Brown 67 said he realised he could no longer to preform heroics when he was sudenly rushed into Perth Royal Infirmary Hospital.
I was taken into Hospital five days before ore last fundraising event.
Mr Brown explained yesterday.
" I was diagnosed as suffering pneumonioa & pleurisey, but luckly I was able to come home in time for the big day.
This work was all done prior to me taking ill but the word must round & there was a lower turnout than expected, of around 41 people.
" However, Im pleased to say everything went well.
Originally Know as Tulloch Breakers the group donated To the Tul for local youth groups.
Tulloch Community council £512, which will help pay for pensioners outings & activaties,
Others to have benefited from the Cb radio clubs generosity have included people in need of specialist home care, the Princess royal trust,Brain injury charity Headway Perthshire abanden dogs society, Beath Easy on lung decease chartiy
In
recogonition of their efforts , Mr Brown & his wife Margaret were invited
to attend the annual royal garden partyat edinburgh Holyroodhouse Palace ealier
this month.
Desite
reversing a similar retirement pledge made two years ago, the disabled father
of five insisted health considerations will ensure he stays out of the
limelight this time round.
“This was definitely
my last event,2 promised Mr B, who was presented with a decanter to mark his
efforts at Perth & Kinross Council
Chambers 2004.
It was an
honour to recieve an invitation to Holtrood in reconigtion of my work & it
was a wonderfull day.
Before signing
off for good,
thanks must go to all who have helped support us over the many
years & to the Tulloch Institute for providing premises for the fund raisers.
I must
stress, however that Alpha Whiskey is continuing & all the monies raised
goes to the Tulloch community council.
The Tulloch
Community Council Chairwomen Marie Chatila paid her own glowing tribute to Mr
Brown yesterday describing him as an angel.
We could`nt
give out the same money without Teds group backing us up.
He`s
a true gem & good friend

Re: Falklands!
Hi Ted,
We will be leaving for the
Falklands on Thursday 14thth jan afternoon and arrive there on Saturday17th Jan
! We hope to make a lot of radiocontacts (VP8YLH) while we're there! Could you
hold back on sending funmail untill we're back on the 26th of January?
We will mainly be on 15-20-40,
15 and 20mtrs are best for Europe!

Get Together 21st June 2008
Unfortunatly I was taken into hospital five
days before the event, very ill, with
PNUEMONIA & PLEURISEY
Luckly I was able to come home to conclude
This was the Final Event
For 21st
June 2008.
Total of Attendance was low
But a total of £562 was raised, £300 had been
presented first to Tulloch Community Council &
they raised for the 3 hrs £212
2nd Cheque to the Air training

They laid on a great demonstration.

A FERT

Oh what a sleekit horrible beastie, lurks in
yer belly efter the feastie, just as ye sit doon among ye kin, there sterts to
stir an enormous wind,
the neeps and tatties and mushy peas,
stert workin like a gentle breeze, but soon the puddin wi the sauncie face,
will have ye blawin all ower the place,
nae matter whit the hell ye dae,
a`bodys gonnae have tae pay, even if ye try to stifle, its like a bullet oot a
rifle,
hawed ye bum tight tae the chair, tae
try and stop the leakin air, shify yersel fae cheek tae cheek, prae tae god it
doesnae reek,
but aw yer efforts go assunder, oot it
comes like a clap a thunder, ricochets aroon the room, michty me a sonic boom,
god almighty it fairly reeks, hope i
huvnae shit ma breeks, tae the bog i better scurry, aw whit the hell, it`s no
ma worry,
a`body roon aboot me chokin, wan or two
are nearly bokin, i`ll feel better for awhile, cannae help but raise a smile,
wis him!! shout with accusin glower,
alas too late, he`s just keeled ower, ye dirty bugger they shout and stare, a
dinnae feel welcome any mair,
where e`re ye go let yer wind gan
